Raga and Meter: Basic Relation
Abstract
Raga is musical arrangement that refers to a set of tones that xpress a particular mood or harmony. It is a structre used to orngize music and creates emotion in it. While Behar is realted to the science of music, which refers to the special set of elements on which the isntruments of poetry are adjusted. Although music and music are separate sciences, they are nevertherless deeply connected. In the science of music the melodies of songs are arranged with the help of melodies. While in the science of rhthem, the weight of poems is determined with the help of rhythms, because songs are also a type of poetery, therefore they are necessarily in some rhythem. On the other hand, the lyrics of a song are also necessarily arranged in some melody, therefore there is a definite relationship between melody and rhythem. Just as songs can be arranged in a specific melody, songs are also composed in specific behars. In ths article, we will find out whether songs arranged in in specific meledies belong to specific behars and what the basic relationship between melodies and behars is.
